LG Display announced significant progress in OLED technology, marking the arrival of a new era of high-end display panels.
On June 27th, LG Display announced plans to fully mass produce 27 inch OLED display panels with a peak brightness of up to 1500 nits. This technology is based on the cornerstone of the fourth generation OLED technology - the "Primary RGB Tandem" technology. In addition, LG Display has increased the refresh rate of these panels to 280Hz.
The launch of mass production marks LG Display's increased efforts to enter the high-end display panel market.
This 27 inch OLED display panel not only boasts excellent brightness, but also has a color reproduction rate of up to 99.5%, making it an ideal choice for professional content creation environments. In addition, these panels can effectively block 99% of internal and external light reflections, thereby eliminating screen reflections and enhancing the viewing experience under various lighting conditions.
LG Display's panels have been certified by UL Solutions and Intertek, with perfect black color, perfect color consistency, and 100% color fidelity. In addition, these panels also comply with the ClearMR 21000 standard established by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), representing the highest level of motion clarity.
In addition to these advancements, LG Display has also developed an OLED panel with QHD image quality and 540Hz high refresh rate, which is the world's first panel to achieve this specification. This is due to the newly developed algorithm overcoming the problem of image quality degradation at high refresh rates. The response time of this panel is 0.03MS, which is currently the highest level.
Following initial reviews from major global television manufacturers, LG Display plans to begin mass production of its groundbreaking 540Hz OLED gaming panel in the second half of this year.
